1901 census: Ringles Cross, Uckfield. Parents Daniel (55) and Jane (52, born Colston Basset), Charles was 10 years old and his brother, Archibald M. 8 years. 1911 census: Sussex (no address), age 21, single and a servant (footman)
Went to France 30 May 1915. Thiepval Memorial. Awarded 1915 Star, Victory Medal and British War Medal.
He is commemorated on a headstone in St Mary (Car Colston) churchyard: 'Brambley, Charles, Private, died 31 July 1916 aged 26. Royal Berkshire Regiment, killed in action in France.' (NFHS Monumental Inscriptions Vol XX, 1982)
